This school year it has been harder than ever to connect with people and make new friends. That is why The Barefoot Times wants to take some time to get to know a few of our new students. We interviewed several students who are new to Sequoyah’s high school this year, asking some icebreaker questions to get to know them better.
What would be the theme song of your life?

If you had 24 hours to live, what would you want to do?
I would spend it with my friends and family, but especially friends because I haven’t seen them for so long.
I would meet Johnny Depp. And call my friends and family and tell them bye or something.
I would have my mom and grandma make me pancakes and then I would hang out with my family and watch movies. I would have a calzone for dinner.
I would do everything I wanted to do but couldn’t out of fear as there are no longer any consequences. I wouldn’t do anything unethical, granted that is subjective, just things I couldn’t build up the confidence for.
What TV sitcom would you star in?
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia because I want to work in a restaurant. I’ve never actually seen the show, I just know Danny Devito’s in it and he owns a bar.
I would star in Reply 1988 because it is really funny and it seems like a fun show to be in.
The Good Place because I already have constant ethical dilemmas with myself since I’m indecisive.
Do you have a celebrity crush or someone you look up to?
Johnny Depp. I know that’s said that a lot, but I really look up to him. He’s just a really good actor, and a good person.
I look up to my mom because she is a very strong woman and she means a lot to me.
I don’t have a celebrity crush nor do I have someone I look up to. I believe that idolizing someone is one of the worst things one can do as it blinds you to their flaws.
If you were stranded on a deserted island, who or what would you bring?
I’d probably bring someone that’s really good at surviving nature and wouldn’t need my help so I could just sit there.
My mom. I feel the safest around her so I would be able to get through it.
I would bring a satellite phone so that I could call someone to come get me.
Lila Williams because I asked her for help on this and she answered with herself.
If you could go back in time and relive one day, what day would that be?
Any day of fall in 6th or 5th grade.
My 6th birthday. I was sick, but it was a good day despite that.
When I went to the Philippines, it was so fun and I enjoyed the whole trip.
I’d want to relive my first debate tournament now that I’ve gained a lot of courage and skill.
How would you describe your style?
Anything, as long as it’s comfortable and not terribly ugly.
I don’t know, it switches up a lot.
Chic and casual.
I dress in comfortable clothes that are usually more preppy.
What’s your most treasured possession?
I guess my computer, which might be really stupid. I’m looking around my room and there’s nothing I’d really want to like, bring to Europe or something.
This little Pinocchio toy my aunt gave me before she died.
My family.
I don’t really have a treasured possession; I don’t have the object permanence to treasure things.
Do you think you’re the protagonist (main character), antagonist (bad guy), or deuteragonist (side kick)?
In real life, I would definitely pick the sidekick. I just think it’s kinda crazy to say I’m the leader or the main character.
Maybe the bad guy. I wouldn’t necessarily want to be the bad guy, but I would like how people would describe me in a way like that.
I would be a supporting character.
I think everyone is everything; everyone is the protagonist in their story, the antagonist in someone else’s, and the deuteragonist in another’s.
What would you like to do before your next birthday?
I’d just like to see people. I would like my friends to come over to my house and play video games, that’s what I did last year and it was really fun. Or go to a park or something.
I would like to sneak out in the middle of the night and take an Uber and see my friends.
I would like to win a debate tournament.
What’s your favorite pizza topping?
Pepperoni with black olives.
