High School’s Annual Halloween Costume Contest

To celebrate Halloween, the Small Events stewardship committee at Sequoyah’s high school hosted a costume contest on Friday, October 30th, 2020. For the first time, this annual event was held over Zoom during the school’s Morning Meeting. Students and teachers submitted their costumes and art pieces and were judged by a panel of judges from the Small Events committee. The overall winner of the Costume Contest won a Halloween-themed Sequoyah water bottle.

BEST OVERALL COSTUME – CHLOE ZAVITOVSKI

Freshman Chloe Zavitovski entered her Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas costume and won “Best Overall Costume” and the Sequoyah water bottle.

BEST DISNEY CHARACTER- BEN PARKHURST

Eleventh grader Ben Parkhurst entered his Anakin Skywalker costume and won the  “Best Disney Character” award.

SPORTIEST COSTUME- KRISTINE NAKADA

Mathematics teacher Kristine Nakada showed her costume of Chin from a new movie on Netflix called Over the Moon, and won the Sportiest Costume Award.

BEST USE OF RECYCLED MATERIALS- JAMES ROBERTS

Chemistry teacher James Roberts dressed as a judge and received the award for “Best Use of Recycled Materials.”

BEST ART PIECE- SIMONE LISTIAK

BEST ANIME WAIFUS- COOPER WESTPHAL AND MAX RABAUDI

Sophomores Cooper Westphal and Max Rabaudi submitted their “Fun Costumes” and won the award of “Best Anime Waifus.”

BEST TIE- LEON GOLD

Senior Leon Gold submitted his “Rocket Racoon at a Wedding” and won the “Best Tie” award.
