Broken Glass Jello has been a family recipe for almost a decade. The perfect blend of condensed milk with four rich flavors of fruity jello creates a chewy, sweet, and most importantly, refreshing treat for any occasion. Even though there are heavy time constraints with this delicious dessert, the completed product is well worth the wait. While this may be difficult for one person to do, having a couple of friends or family members helping will make this process significantly easier.
Ingredients:
- 4 small boxes (3 oz. each) of flavored Jell-O (I used strawberry, lime, orange, and berry-blue)
- 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin (ideally Knox brand)
Supplies:
- 4 containers (to store the four flavors of Jell-O)
- 1 9 x 13 pan (for the finished Jell-O)
Directions:
- For each flavor, dissolve one box of jello in one cup of boiling water. Pour into a container and chill (overnight is best, but I usually chill for 3-4 hours until firm).
- After chilling the four flavors, cut them into small blocks and carefully mix them in the 9 x 13 pan.
- Sprinkle 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin in a ½ cup of cold water in a separate bowl. After the gelatin blooms, add 1 ½ cup boiling water and dissolve. Add the can of condensed milk. Stir and cool. Pour cooled milk mixture over jello and chill overnight (again, 3-4 hours is usually fine until firm).
- Cut into blocks or fun shapes and serve!
