Now, we all know Marc — director of Sequoyah’s high school, coach of the debate team, and owner of many staplers. While he may seem like a perfectly average, carbon-based human being, there is much more to this man than meets the eye.
Unless you’ve been living underneath a rock for the past school year, you’ve probably seen Marc walking around campus, checking on classes, or doing other director-of-high-school-like things. Being the director-of-high-school-like person that he is, he takes it upon himself to make sure that everything in the school is running smoothly. At least, that’s what you’re expected to believe. In truth, the real reason he takes his job so seriously is not nearly as mundane.
What if I told you that Marc Alongi was not a regular homo sapien from earth, but was in fact a being hailing from the reaches of reality beyond the scope of our very plane of existence? I’m assuming you wouldn’t believe me, but I must inform you of the truth of the matter. Marc Alongi is an extradimensional god. As it stands, he is the most powerful being in the universe.
The high school campus of Sequoyah acts as Marc’s sanctum. This is because it is built upon Marc’s point of entry into this world. RJ often mentions the existence of the “Ross Hum.” What exactly this hum is has been long debated, but all hypotheses about the nature of this “hum” are wrong. This sound is actually the reverberations caused by the interdimensional gateway that lies beneath the very ground that Ross Chapel was built upon. As Marc is capable of phasing through solid matter, he can access this portal whenever he needs. This is why he takes such measures to ensure the smooth operations of the school.
Now, you may be wondering, “If Marc is so powerful, why is the world still, y’know, like this?” And to that I would first say to be more specific with your complaint. But to answer your question, Marc’s vast power is both a blessing and a curse. Due to a certain escapade involving the dark sorcerers that are today known as the “neighbors,” Marc cannot leave the high school’s campus. Any times you may have seen Marc leave were not actually Marc, and rather an astral projection he must use to interact with the outside world.
Though he cannot physically leave, Marc has used his resources to improve the world around him in any way he can, most prominently facilitating the education of the many students currently at Sequoyah.
